DC Cherry Blossom Festival

Driving through the streets of DC, pops of pale pink can be seen on the trees. I think it’s Spring’s way of telling us, it’s trying with all its might to give us that warm weather that everyone so desperately wants!

The Cherry Blossom Festival’s history from its official website

“Each year, the National Cherry Blossom Festival commemorates the 1912 gift of 3,000 cherry trees from Mayor Yukio Ozaki of Tokyo to the city of Washington, DC. The gift and annual celebration honor the lasting friendship between the United States and Japan and the continued close relationship between the two countries.” The rest of the entry can be read here.

We have some friends coming into town this weekend and I am hoping I can retrace the steps of the photos below.
